Current Letter - 11-23-11
Dear St Paul Lutheran Church,
I find it hard to put into words how thankful I am for all the support that you have given us over the last 11 months. You thoughts, prayers, cards, and gift packages have meant the world to us. The treats that you sent have brightened the day of all the soldiers who came by our Free-X. We have distributed over 25,000(!) pounds of treats and toiletries (not to mention countless cards and pictures) to over 1200 soldiers and civilians.
The Lord has been good and gracious to us. We have unfortunately lost three soldiers and had over 129 wounded in action over this year. Please keep them and their families in your prayers. The soldiers of TF Ramrod have made a difference in this war. Their professionalism, commitment, and discipline have been an inspiration to me and the others who know what they do every day. These soldiers are truly America's pride and joy.
We are about a month away from redeploying. The fighting remains at a high tempo and will until the day we leave this area of Afghanistan. Our focus remains strong. But we are beginning to plan for the redeployment homecoming. If you would like to be there in Fort Knox, please email me and Mrs. Kristy Priest back and we will make sure you get an invitation to the Battalion welcome home ceremony sometime in early January.
Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
Respectfully, Michael Frese TF Ramrod Chaplain CHF |
