Getting Married?

Congratulations on your engagement! We are delighted to know of your interest in a St. Paul/The Summit Wedding!

God has called St. Paul/The Summit to help couples thorugh their weddings to lay a foundation for a strong family life. So, there are several expectations that you need to know in advance, which you will help you make some important decisions about your wedding.

Your wedding ceremony will be a worship service which honors Christ and blesses your guests. To ensure this we ask that ...

  • Readings be taken from the Bible
  • Classical or contemporary music, vocal and instramental, must have been composed for Christian worship.
  • St. Paul and The Summit pastors are limited by guidelines of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod to co-celebrate weddings only with other LCMS pastors. Other ministers are welcome, in the role of a friend of the bride or groom, to come forward to read one or more Scrpture readings.

Our #1 aim is to help you grow strong in the love of Jesus Christ. We therefore ask you to ...

  • Worship with us now until the wedding. St. Paul/The Summit wants to help you grow in the love of Jesus Christ!
  • Take our "Connect" classes at St. Paul or the Summit for Christian faith basics and what it means to be a part of the St. Paul and Summit communities.
  • Do pre-marital counseling with a professional counselor or the pastor who will perform your wedding. St. Paul and The Summit uses the Prepare-Enrich inventory and is part of the "Twogether In Texas" initiative. (When one or both of you live out of town, we will work with you to complete the classes and counseling in creative ways.)
  • Please make an appointment with the pastor who will be officiating at your wedding to discuss the pre-marital process. Also make an appointment to visit with Judy Kieschnick to go over some basic guidelines regarding your wedding.

There wil be some fees charged for your wedding. We will gladly invest considerable time, human and financial resources into your wedding. We ask couples to help cover part of that cost. Call the office for the current listing.

One of the fees assessed will be for Wedding Coordinators. They will meet with you ahead of time to plan the logistics of your ceremony. Then, they will lead your rehersal and facilitate details for the ceremony itself. Experience has shown this to be a need even for small weddings. You will find the leadership provided to you by the Coordinators most helpful!
