Lunches

Lunches

Extended Care children will eat lunch at 12:30 PM. Hot lunches will be served every day through our school lunch program. In order for your child to receive a hot lunch, a lunch account must be setup with a $50.00 minimum amount deposited. Lunch money can be added to your account in the school office or sent to your child’s teacher. When your child’s account is low, notification will be sent home. We will not be accepting money on a daily basis for lunches or milk.

Should you choose to send a lunch with your child, please include meat, bread, fruits and/or vegetables. We encourage nutritious lunches and ask that excessive sugar be limited. Lunches must not contain glass containers or items needing the microwave or refrigeration, as we don’t have the facilities to accommodate these. Mark all lunch boxes or sacks with your child’s name.
Parents are encouraged to come have lunch with their children. Please do not bring in fast food lunches or carbonated beverages. The cost for an adult lunch is $4.00. Lunch must be prepaid in the office prior to eating.

Two ways in which this can be done is:

  • On the day you plan to eat lunch with your child, you can send a note to your child’s teacher stating your intentions for lunch and enclose the money for your lunch
  • Go to the office prior to coming down for lunch and purchase a lunch from the school secretary. You will not be able to use a punch off your child’s lunch card.

Milk is included in a school lunch; however, if your child needs a second milk during lunch, an additional milk account is needed. A milk account can be set up with a $12.00 minimum. Do not send money for milk on a daily basis.

If your child has a food allergy we should be aware of, please notify the Director. We will make every effort to substitute another food, providing we have a written note from the child’s doctor in our files.
Please feel free to discuss your child’s eating habits with the Director at any time.

8th Grade Pizza Lunches

Our eighth grade class serves pizza lunches twice monthly on Wednesdays. The cost for a slice of pizza is $3.00. Parents may place a yearly order for their child during registration or in the school office. Proceeds help fund the annual eighth grade trip to Vicksburg, Mississippi. Payment for eighth grade lunches should not be included with other checks. Checks should be made payable to St. Paul.

Snacks and Nutrition

Our goal is to provide a healthy snack for the children every afternoon. One item from the following snack list and juice or milk is provided every afternoon. Should your child be allergic to any snack listed below, please make sure the director is aware of this allergy. A doctor’s note is required to keep your child from being served milk.
