Mission Partners

The Summit partners with several local and DFW area ministries.  A few of these are highlighted below.  For more information on how to get involved with Summit Mission projects, contact Marcia Buyers or Peter Couser.

Parker County Center of Hope is a Christ-based 501c3 organization dedicated to reversing the cycle of poverty in Parker County through our offices in Weatherford and Aledo. They currently offer the following programs to our neighbors in need.

  • Food Bank- distributes 1000+ carts of groceries to over 500 families each month
  • Limited financial aid for utilities and prescriptions
  • Daily meals prepared and served restaurant-style by Churches of Hope on a rotational basis, over 1,400 meals a month.
  • Computer classes and GED classes
  • Bible studies
  • Jobs for Life program
  • Camp Hope 2010

Center of Hope openly shares the gospel with our neighbors, but in a gentle way. They never refuse services based on an unreceptive ear.

Volunteers are needed in all of the areas mentioned above, and, there are always opportunities in the office for administrative work or to help during special events.

They would love to give you a tour and visit with you about the volunteer opportunities. You may call the Weatherford office at 817-594-0266 or the Aledo office at 817-441-2442 or visit website http://www.centerofhopetx.com.

First Fruits Sundays -The Center of Hope
The first Sunday of every month we take a collection of non-perishable, canned goods, pasta, cleaning supplies, toiletry items, etc.  We deliver these items to The Center of Hope in Aledo and they distrubute them to families in need. Every item is welcome and nothing is to big or too small.

St. Paul Service Opportunities

LWML - Lutheran Women's Missionary League

Lutheran Disaster Response:  We are continuing our support of those who were affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita along the Gulf Coast.   St. Paul has sent work crews, both to the New Orleans and Port Arthur, TX areas. The devastation they have witnessed is extensive and overwhelming. Some estimate the recovery time to take up to 15 years!

There are many ways to join in this outreach! You can contribute with gifts of time and physical work, with your financial gifts, and with your offerings of prayer! Contact Wendy at 817-332-2281.
