The “Tent Service Without A Tent” was a new experience at St Paul and The Summit. Preparations began months ago with the intention of unifing the body in our three venues while giving a sense of ministry beyond sanctuary walls. In the end, those involved in the development of the service felt the Lord blessed the effort, the experience varied by location.
We all came together during the Welcome. We could see each other greeting. From there each service was on their own until Pastor Messmann shared the Message. (He has been looking for a way to be in two places at once, let alone three.) The segment closed with special music from our Sudanese friends.
The simulcast returned for communion, at least in Aledo and the New Life Center. A technical glitch prevented it from being displayed in the Sanctuary. (Ok. I confess. I plugged the cord into the wrong slot.) Worshipers in the Sanctuary did not have the opportunity to see the reconnection at communion yet were still a part of the other two services.
Are we going to do this again soon? Not likely.
Are we going to do this again, ever? Not sure. We will listen so we may follow the Spirit's leading. |
